field note 000

Observe.

Every place tells two stories.

One belongs to the landscape.

The other belongs to the people who spent time there.

Field Notes are written where those stories overlap.

More notes. More places. More to come.

Esker is built around real places, real people, and the things worth noticing in the Midwest.

If you know someone with an interesting craft, tradition, landscape, occupation, or outdoor pursuit, I’d love an introduction. It could be anything from raising whitetails or tapping maple trees to restoring wooden boats, running a family orchard, training bird dogs, carving decoys, tending a garden, or something we haven’t even thought of yet.

We would simply like to spend some time there with our camera, learn the story, and share it through Esker.

If someone comes to mind, send us a message.
